WHO WE ARE

Phillip Lamar Bobo
President / Writer / Producer

Phillip Lamar Bobo was born on December 6, 1971 in Hollywood, California. After earning a football scholarship at Washington State University and enrolling in Social Sciences and Dramatic Arts, life’s lessons became more apparent. Bobo left school after his junior year to pursue an NFL career, signing as a free agent with the Los Angeles Rams, and later with the Oakland Raiders, Amsterdam Admirals, and Edmonton Eskimos.

Bobo returned to Hollywood as a scout for actors at Blake Ari Models. Within a month, he was promoted to Talent Director, managing scouts from San Diego to Santa Clarita. That vast territory led to an internship at Persaud Brothers Entertainment. Bobo quickly became a student of the business during his tenure at Persaud, landing roles as casting assistant with Visionary Casting and Monica Cooper Casting. He also partnered with Robyn Persaud to give back to the art of acting, by establishing Talent Connect – assisting over 200 new artists in the search and booking of auditions.

In addition to helping actors find roles to match, Bobo developed a love for acting, especially playing the role of Junebug in the North Hollywood Theater Production of Blood Brothers. Soon after, he enrolled in the New York Film Academy and found his truth: writing and directing. Bobo explored that truth during an on-set experience with Actor/Director Denzel Washington. With pen and paper in hand, Bobo entered the ultimate film classroom as he watched Washington’s directorial expertise unfold in The Great Debaters. Observing Washington directing himself and four other Academy Award winners in the film was an incredible experience, and taught Bobo set management and the art of filmmaking.

Bobo intertwined love for the arts with athleticism, serving as a boxing trainer for seventeen years. His gloves are always at the ready for the rounds, teaching the art of landing punches and the vulnerability to attack the punches life lands back at you. Bobo’s first punch in writing and directing are featured in the upcoming films Like Father and Perfect World.
